Director, writer, and actor Nat Boltt’s debut feature, Holy Days, stars Golden Globe, Emmy, BAFTA, and Academy Award honourees Judy Davis, Miriam Margolyes, and Jacki Weaver.

Selected for the Toronto International Film Festival’s 50th anniversary edition, the film sold out its US screenings at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival before a successful global theatrical release, topping the box office in New Zealand.

Holy Days won Best Motion Picture at the Leo Awards, with Boltt receiving the award for Best Director.

Boltt also directs episodic television, with credits including Riverdale and The Dressing Room, starring Eric McCormack. An alumna of the Warner Bros. Directors Program, she trained under industry leaders Mary Lou Belli, Bethany Rooney, Lee Toland Krieger, and Maggie Kiley.

Born in South Africa, Boltt created and ran CrazE for e.tv, writing more than 300 episodes. As a staff writer, she contributed to Hard Copy, Emu, Font, Girls, and Coconuts. She also wrote Desert Lake Venture for National Geographic and is a published author.

Boltt has also enjoyed a successful career in front of the camera, appearing in Riverdale and District 9. Her passion for animals and the environment has helped her build a social media following in the millions.

She serves on the board of Wildlife Conservation International, sits on the Directors Guild of Canada’s Sustainability Committee, and advocates for diversity, inclusion, environmental causes, and Indigenous rights.

What she most likes about herself: she has been adopted by baby squirrels. Not once, but twice.
