BRAYDEN DEMOREST-PURDY
Brayden DeMorest-Purdy is an award-winning director, producer, and writer. He started his career in Toronto, Ontario, at Rogers Television as a studio assistant, and worked his way to directing and producing segments for the station.
His directorial debut, Beyond the Woods, won four Best Picture awards, a Best Directing award, and a variety of other awards and nominations. The film is available to watch on Apple TV, Prime, Cineplex, and more.
He was also an editor for DreamWorks, Universal, and Netflix on a variety of shows, including the Emmy-nominated series Gabby’s Dollhouse. Brayden has a variety of skills in live-action and animation, along with knowledge of all stages of production.
Brayden has worked with and learned from some of his idols, including Neill Blomkamp’s producing team (Elysium, Chappie), Deborah Chow (The Mandalorian, Obi-Wan Kenobi), and Stephen Campanelli, Clint Eastwood’s go-to camera operator and collaborator.
Brayden recently served as a juror for the International Emmy Awards and has been a recurring juror for the DGC and Leo Awards since 2021.
Outside of film, Brayden is a proud advocate for the International OCD Foundation, where he helps bring awareness and resources to the OCD community.
