Lot of 3 items from The Coil Collection of John Balance & Peter Christopherson

$150.00

The following three periodicals and ephemera were once items in The Coil Collection of John Balance (Geoffrey Nigel Laurence Rushton) [1962 – 2004] & Peter Christopherson (aka Sleazy) [1955 – 2010]. Each item is accompanied by a Certificate of Provenance provided by Ben Fernee of Caduceus Books.

Kadmon (Gerhard Petak). Schwarze Sonne / Black Sun. Vienna: Petak, 1987. Gold coloured Cardstock coveted (unbound) title and design in black on front cover. Back cover illustration “Schwarzer Sonnenkentaur”. back cover. 24pp card covered booklet (unbound),

[Date 1987 appears but unclear if this is date of composition or publication, illustrated. Amateur production quality, yet elegant.

Loosely enclosed a single page typed letter signed on headed notepaper (nearly 200 words). This reveals that John Balance had been considering writing a book regarding the Black Sun and offers contributions. Provides insight into certain vectors of Coil cultural interests.]

Kadmon, Aorta No.1 Schwarze Sonne / Black Sun, Not dated c.1992? 20pp card covered booklet, illustrated. [Appears to be a reprint as inner covers carry descriptions of the contents of Aorta Nos. 1 - 12. Amateur production, yet tasteful. German with English translation.]

Kadmon, Ahnstern VIII, Aorta not dated 12pp leaflet. Laid in postcard inscribed “Keep up the good work, thy will be done, Kadmon”, presumably to John Balance.

[Account of psychedelic mushroom trip. Kadmon aka Gerhard Petak]

All in Very Good condition. Lot of 3 Items

Thank you!

The VHS and its team members humbly acknowledge with gratitude that we live, work, and play on the unceded and ancestral lands of the Coast Salish peoples– namely the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations.
